Our Story

They say love at first sight

But that wasn’t the case for us. We met at a birthday gathering at a local Minnesota brewery back in 2017. While there was some attraction there (for at least one of us), we didn’t immediately hit things off. From there, we began to occasionally hangout, and build a solid friendship revolving around bike rides, nights out, and social gatherings.

Things got real

After being around each other for most of the summer, we couldn’t deny our now mutual attraction. So finally, in August, Harry built up the courage to ask me out. With no expectations in mind, we went on a date to Punch Bowl Social, and after some subpar bowling, darts, and ski ball, plus some fantastic conversations, we hit it off romantically and were attached at the hips from then on.

Fast forward

Four years later and we are best friends, homeowners, dog parents, workout addicts, cooking partners, and true loves. We’re finally ready to make it official!

The proposal

The “holiday” photoshoot

Holiday photos are always a part of our yearly schedule. What I didn’t know was that there was a little something extra planned this year. I set up the photo shoot at a local tree farm. To be sneaky Harry reached out to the photographer separately to devise a plan to propose.

He asked I said yes

When the day came, I had no expectations, but was a little suspicious of his nervousness that I chalked up to the fact that our dog, Leo, was overly excited at the tree farm. When the moment came, it felt surreal, and I asked, “Is this for real?” After some laughs, tears, hugs, and kisses, I said “YES”!

A little more about us

Rebekah Dake

Rebekah loves country music (to Harrison’s dismay), and that’s no surprise considering she grew up in the small town of Delano, where everyone knows everyone. While she did move away from her small town, she couldn’t escape Minnesota, going to college at St Thomas and staying in the state upon graduating. She’s a bubbly chatterbox who loves meeting new people, so much so that she landed in a career of talent acquisition after graduating, where she gets to talk to new people every day!

Harrison Washuta

For those of you who don’t know, Harrison (or Harry as you probably know him) is actually a Jersey boy who moved to Minnesota his senior year of high school. Despite it being negative 10 degrees for over half the year, he fell in love with the city, lake life, people, and seasons; so much so that after college in New York and purchasing a whole heck of a lot more winter clothes, he set up his roots in Minnesota. His lifelong love for the arts and design has led him to his role as an Art Director!

Leo

This whole site would be about naps, cuddling, and peanut butter if it was up to Leo. He’s our spoiled little fur child, whose sole job in life is to protect us from cars going by and the mailman; while also giving us all of his love. He's a cuddly mini golden doodle who we welcomed to the family three years ago and is the light of our lives (some may argue the focus of our lives). He will not be at the wedding in person, but will be there in spirit!
